Watching the Primetime Emmy Awards from home? Just because you aren’t walking the red carpet doesn’t mean you can’t view the show in style! Here are some recommendations, presented by Ekornes®, on how to create your own Architectural Digest Greenroom-inspired Emmys viewing party.

Moroccan decor combines both a warm and cool color palette, so the things you get for your party should have a lot of reds and blues. Texture, pattern and intricate detail, as well as anything handmade, tile or silver will fit in perfectly. To add even more fun, look for goblet-like glasses to serve your guests drinks in (the more jewels they have, the better) or drape Moroccan fabrics over your table for a stylish tablecloth. For images or more ideas on furniture and decor, check out the items Martyn has picked for the Greenroom! You can find them all on our Materials page.
Other suggestions: low mosaic tables, brightly colored candles, lanterns and fabric wallhangings
To enjoy the show in complete and utter comfort, watch the Primetime Emmy Awards in an Ekornes Stressless® Chair. (The line comes in a variety of shapes and sizes; their amazing head and lumbar support has even garnered them endorsement by the American Chiropractic Association.) Worried about having enough seating for everyone? Stock up on some deep red or Mediterranean blue pillows, both patterned and solid. Whoever doesn’t get a chair can get cozy on the floor.
Follow Martyn’s lead and create a menu for your party inspired by the interior! Moroccan food is very diverse, mixing Arab, Berber, Moorish, African, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern and French influences. The base of the cuisine includes foods such as chicken, lamb and beef and spices such as mint, saffron, cinnamon, cumin, ginger, paprika and parsley. For your guests, consider some lamb kabobs and couscous, topped off with seasonal fruit and green tea with mint.
